The NMMU Madibaz defeated the Central University of Technology 34-13 in this FNB Varsaity Cup fixture.
The match was the first home game for the Madibaz who came into the clash on the back of a 26-36 defeat against the North West Universty Pukke last week.
The second half was marred by ill-discipline from the Madibaz side, who at a point had to defend with 12 men on the field. Resolute defence from their side along with handling errors and bad decision making from CUT prevented the men from the Free State from capitalising on that advantage.
Tries from Daniel Acker, Devon Lailvaux and Tythan Adams, along with successful conversions from Ruan Allerston and Steven Hansel, secured the bonus point win for the Madibaz who now move up to fourth on the log with six points from the first two matches.
Their next game will be against the University of Cape Town at the UCT Rugby Fields on Monday the 23rd of February (next week). Kick-off is at 18h30.
