Port Elizabeth – The Nelson Mandela Bay fashion week which was launched last year as a platform for local designers across Eastern Cape to showcase their designs has become a huge success. The team behind fashion week which consists of: Llewellyn Williams (Founder & managing director), Lwethu Tsenge (Head of model management& training), Sanelisiwe Maxwell Mdashe (Head of media & blogger), and Kagiso Gqadu (Art direction and photography) held their Bay fashion week media briefing Thursday afternoon, where they touched on the different things that can be expected at the event, and how the concept came about as well how they plan to maintain longevity.
Williams said that they plan to make Nelson Mandela Fashion week a contender with the Cape Town and the Johannesburg fashion weeks. He further urged people to come together and support the shows in order to promote growth.
Miss Tsenge also explained what will be happening during the 4 days of fashion week. She started by highlighting the 11th of October, where Nelson Mandela Bay fashion week will be launched at the Rooftop Garden Bar.
